How to do Triangle Pose
StandingHoldBoth sidesIntermediate
Triangle Pose is a standing stretch for your chest, groin and hamstrings. Do it on one side, then switch.
Step by step
- 1Step your feet wide apart and turn your left toes out.
- 2Lift your arms to shoulder height, then reach over to the left, left hand down your leg, right arm reaching up.
What you should feel
Let your chest open toward the side.
Form tips
- Lengthen both sides of the waist. Stack the right shoulder over the left. Press through the outer edge of the back foot.
- Feel the stretch along your left leg and your right side.
- Let your hand rest lightly… wherever it lands.
Make it easier
Rest your hand higher on your leg if this feels too strong.
Coming out of it
Press through your feet… and slowly rise back to standing.
Muscles it works
Move slowly and stop if anything hurts. This is general guidance, not medical advice; check with a professional if you're injured or recovering.
