How to do Humble Warrior
StandingHoldBoth sidesIntermediate
Humble Warrior is a standing stretch for your chest, glutes and hamstrings. Do it on one side, then switch.
Step by step
- 1Stand tall and step your left foot back into a lunge, right knee bent.
- 2Clasp your hands behind your back then fold forward inside your right knee and let your arms lift up.
What you should feel
Let your shoulders open as your arms float.
Form tips
- Front knee stacked over the ankle. Squeeze the palms together to open the chest. Press through the back heel, feel the leg lengthen.
- Feel your right hip and the back of your left leg.
- Stay steady through your feet… breathe slowly.
Make it easier
If your shoulders are tight, hold a towel between your hands.
Coming out of it
On your next exhale… rise up slowly… release your hands… and step your feet together.
Muscles it works
Move slowly and stop if anything hurts. This is general guidance, not medical advice; check with a professional if you're injured or recovering.
