How to do Jump Squats
StandingFlowing movementIntermediate
Jump Squats is a standing flowing stretch for your calves, core and glutes.
Step by step
- 1Stand tall with your feet hip-width apart.
- 2Bend your knees and sit back into a squat, reaching your arms forward and get ready to jump.
What you should feel
Land quietly… through the balls of your feet.
Form tips
- Swing the arms to power the jump. Knees track over the toes on landing. Land quietly and absorb through the legs.
- Keep your breath steady.
- Small jumps are completely fine.
Make it easier
If your knees or ankles need a rest, rise onto your toes instead of jumping.
Coming out of it
Let the jumps slow down… and come to stand still.
Muscles it works
Move slowly and stop if anything hurts. This is general guidance, not medical advice; check with a professional if you're injured or recovering.
