How to do Kang Squat
StandingFlowing movementBeginner
Kang Squat is a standing flowing stretch for your core, glutes and hamstrings.
Step by step
- 1Stand tall with your feet hip-width apart and your hands behind your head.
- 2Keep your elbows wide and your back nice and long.
What you should feel
Keep your back long through every step.
Form tips
- Flat back the whole way. Knees track over the toes. Squeeze the glutes as you stand.
- Move slowly… let your breath lead.
- Feel the backs of your legs and your glutes.
Make it easier
If your knees are sensitive, keep the squat shallow.
Coming out of it
Come back to standing… and lower your hands.
Muscles it works
Move slowly and stop if anything hurts. This is general guidance, not medical advice; check with a professional if you're injured or recovering.
