How to do Seated Hamstring
SeatedHoldBoth sidesAdvanced
Seated Hamstring is a seated stretch for your calves, hamstrings and lower back. Do it on one side, then switch.
Step by step
- 1Sit on the edge of a chair with your back straight.
- 2Extend one leg in front, heel on the floor and toes up.
- 3Sit tall, lengthen your spine, and gently lean forward from your hips.
What you should feel
Keep your back long as you lean.
Form tips
- Keep your back straight. Avoid rounding your spine. Reach towards your extended foot to deepen the stretch.
- Feel the back of your right leg slowly open.
- Let each exhale soften you a little more.
Make it easier
If it feels too strong, sit a little more upright.
Coming out of it
On your next inhale… sit up tall… and draw your leg back in.
Muscles it works
Move slowly and stop if anything hurts. This is general guidance, not medical advice; check with a professional if you're injured or recovering.
