How to do Chin-to-Chest Stretch

SeatedHoldBeginner

Chin-to-Chest Stretch is a seated stretch for your neck and upper back.

Step by step

  1. 1Stand or sit up tall.
  2. 2Bring both hands up behind your head and lace your fingers together.
  3. 3Then slowly let your chin drop down toward your chest.

What you should feel

No pulling… just resting.

Form tips

  • Shoulders down, away from the ears. Keep the back straight, bend only at the neck. Feel the back of the neck and upper back lengthen.
  • Let your elbows hang heavy.
  • Feel the back of your neck gently open.

Make it easier

If your neck is tender, let your hands go and just drop your chin.

Coming out of it

Slowly lift your head… and lower your hands.

Muscles it works

Move slowly and stop if anything hurts. This is general guidance, not medical advice; check with a professional if you're injured or recovering.
